How Long Halt Ye Between Two Opinions?

God created mankind for knowledge of His Divine Creator, who reveals Himself, to mankind...

In nature: "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handiwork; There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard." Psalm 19:1-3

In conscience: When our Divine Creator created us, He placed in the core of our being, an innate characteristic, found universally in mankind, a conscience, which prods mankind to do right and to refrain from wrong.  The conscience is one’s inner moral compass attempting to direct the individual to God to be reconciled to God. The conscience serves to either accuse or excuse us. "Their conscience also bearing witness and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another." Romans 2:15   The very existence of the conscience calls for the existence of a Moral Governor of the universe to whom we must all someday give account.

In historical events: In God’s divine disclosure which climaxed in Jesus Christ as God’s self-revelation in flesh. "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God." Psalm 14:1

In the ancient world the various nations had an idol for harvest, rain, storms, fertility, etc., because they could not comprehend one single Divine Creator who could control all the forces of nature. Thus, they had multiple false gods (IDOLS) to represent things of nature that were out of man’s control.  "Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.  Nevertheless he left not himself without witness in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness." Acts 14: 16-17

It also seemed difficult for individuals to believe in the invisible so they made golden images, brass images, wood images; etc. that they could see; however, our invisible God become uniquely incarnate in Jesus Christ. "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon and our hands have handled of the Word of life; (for the life was manifested and we have seen it and bear witness and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested unto us;)" 1 John 1:1

God is the Creator of all Life; the Preserver of all Life (provides our needs); the Redeemer and the Judge of life.

God so wanted to restore His personal, continuous fellowship with mankind that He was willing to sacrifice His only Son so mankind could be reconciled back to God. "How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them!" Psalm 139: 17

As a parent wants what is best for their children, God wants only what is best for us; therefore, He gave us the Holy Bible as our instructions for a happy life. "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." Psalm 119:105

As Jesus’ mother told the servants at the wedding, “Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.” St. John 2:4 These are good instructions for us today!

In order to be reconciled to God and to live in His favor and to be ready for eternal life with Jesus Christ, we must:

- Believe that He is God and a rewarder of those who seek Him.

- Acknowledge that you have sinned against God and ask God to forgive you and to cleanse your conscience (Only faith in the blood of Jesus can cleanse the conscience.)

- Ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit ~~it is pretty simple!

"Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me." Psalm 51:10

God’s Holy Spirit is our witness that we are reconciled to God. The Holy Spirit will guide you, teach you, direct you, and comfort you; thus Jesus Christ called the Holy Spirit, the Comforter.

Why halt ye between two opinions?
